Saga Education, the nation’s nonprofit leader in helping states and districts get tutoring right, is thrilled to be a recipient of funding through the Maryland Partnership for Proven Programs. We are grateful to Gov. Wes Moore, the State of Maryland, and Arnold Ventures for their commitment to evidence-based education initiatives.
This investment represents a significant opportunity to expand our evidence-based, high-impact tutoring program to Baltimore City Public Schools this year, and other districts in Maryland over the next four. Our approach to tutoring has consistently demonstrated its ability to address learning gaps and improve math achievement.
Maryland is now the second state, after New Mexico, in which the state has selected Saga to be its lead partner for math tutoring. In addition, Saga is the lead partner for math tutoring in cities including Chicago and Philadelphia, and counties including Orange County, FL, Fairfax County, VA, and Fulton County, GA.
By harnessing the combined strengths of human expertise and technology to boost student achievement and foster more equitable learning opportunities, Saga’s history of success is extensive. Research on Saga’s approach demonstrates that students can achieve the equivalent of 2.5 years of mathematics learning within a single academic year and reduce math-related failures by up to 63%.
