Saga
Champions
Program

Saga Education launched the Saga Champions Program to give alumni the opportunity to host events and share ideas to increase engagement and morale of our alumni community. As we aspire to have an active alumni community that will continue to promote the importance of high-impact tutoring, we encourage Saga Champions to change the equation in how we provide support to alumni.
Through this program, Champions will:
- Build engagement within the alumni community and host events to connect fellows and alumni
- Represent the alumni community at various recruiting and other events hosted by Saga Education
- Share ideas and suggestions to improve the fellow and alumni experience
2024-2025 Saga Champions

Amina Ashraf
Amina is a graduate school student in New Orleans, Louisiana, specifically interested in Indigenous Health. She served as a remote Saga fellow during SY 21-22 for schools in Rhode Island. As a fellow, she felt immensely supported by her fantastic team and the students as they worked to reach their math goals. The experience helped her become aware of the mental roadblocks she faced as a student and strengthened her passion for academic equity. In her free time, Amina enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and thrifting!
Isabella Boateng
Isabella is a passionate educator from New Jersey, currently teaching 5th grade math and science. With a love for witnessing the growth in her students, she blends creativity with academic rigor to inspire young minds. Outside of the classroom, she has been encouraging her students to explore their creativity through writing, art, and design. An advocate for personal growth and faith, Isabella is involved with Teach for America, pursues hobbies like photography, podcasting, and event administration.

Alexis Burgess
Alexis (Lexi) is from Charleston South Carolina where she served with Saga for two years, as an in-person fellow. During her two years, she worked with 9th and 10th grade, and became a Leadership fellow. While serving with Saga, she had unforgettable experiences, but also witnessed education inequities. This motivated her to begin a nontraditional career in education, partnering with teachers, providing resources, and advocating for students in underserved communities. Currently, she works for Coastal Community Foundation in South Carolina, a nonprofit that focuses on creating equitable communities. She is excited to be a Saga Champion and wants to help others learn about this transformative experience and impact the lives of students.
